These grants are for people who’ve never embarked on activist projects before. A mixed bag: we all know what happens when well-meaning people hit the ground in a community where they’ve never been before and try to Change The World. But at the same time, so many grants are for people who have been running their own nonprofits for umptyump years already, so it’s nice to see someone supporting newcomers to the field.
Particularly since if you get the grant, you can imagine Picard saying “Engage!” every time you start running from the po-leece.
